Niagara-on-the-Lake Wineries That Serve Dinner

When people think of Niagara-on-the-Lake, the first thing that usually comes to mind is wine— and lots of it. This charming region is home to some of the best wineries in the world, where sipping on a glass of locally crafted Pinot Noir is practically a rite of passage. But let me let you in on a little secret: the experience doesn’t stop at the tasting bar. Some wineries take things up a notch, offering gourmet dining experiences that pair their signature wines with chef-driven menus, and I’ve got the best Niagara-on-the-Lake Wineries that serve dinner for you here!

If you’re craving a romantic sunset dinner, a leisurely lunch with friends, or a decadent multi-course feast, Niagara-on-the-Lake delivers. Here are my favorite wineries that turn a simple meal into an unforgettable culinary adventure.

Peller Estates Winery & Restaurant

The moment I arrive at Peller Estates Winery & Restaurant, I know I’m in for something unforgettable. Chef Jason Parson’s menu celebrates Niagara’s finest ingredients, thoughtfully crafted to complement their award-winning wines. Every dish showcases a perfect balance of flavor and artistry, making each meal exalted and deeply comforting. With sweeping vineyard views and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, every visit is a special occasion.

I recently tried the Duck Leg as my main course. It has a blend of flavors and textures, making it a memorable choice for those seeking a refined dining experience. It features a tender duck leg accompanied by a poached duck egg, winter root vegetable hash, cabbage, and a lemongrass Chardonnay jus. To complement the meal, I selected a glass of Peller Estates Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021. This medium to full-bodied wine, with its notes of dark fruits and soft tannins, paired wonderfully with the duck, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Trius Winery Restaurant

The first time I dined at Trius Winery Restaurant, I understood why it’s the only Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The dishes are bold, creative, and somehow both refined and comforting at the same time.

I had the pleasure of savoring their Vegetable Dumplings. This exquisite dish features delicate dumplings filled with a medley of bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, Nantes carrots, and edamame, all enveloped in a flavorful ginger soy broth. The addition of fried sesame tofu adds a delightful crunch, while fresh cilantro, pickled chili, Picard’s peanuts, and spring onions provide vibrant accents that elevate the overall taste experience.

Pro tip: Trius is a warm and welcoming winery with none of the stuffiness of some of the bigger wineries. It’s one of my favorites – join their wine club for special deals and dining events, too.

Two Sisters Vineyards – Kitchen76

There’s something about Two Sisters’ Vineyard Kitchen76 that keeps pulling me back. The setting is inviting, with a warm, rustic charm that makes lingering over a meal feel like second nature. And then there’s the view—rolling vineyards stretching into the horizon, the perfect backdrop for a long lunch or a cozy dinner. With seasonal hours, always check ahead before visiting.

I was delighted to try Melanzane, a classic Italian dish showcasing eggplant’s rich flavors. The dish features layers of tender, thinly sliced eggplant with a robust tomato sauce and creamy cheese, all baked to perfection. The blend of textures—from the velvety eggplant to the gooey melted cheese—was amazing!

Pro tip: Two Sisters is definitely one of the more posh wineries, offering an elegant dining experience that stays true to its authentic Italian roots. The last time I was here, the server told me that the menu reflects the cuisine that the two sisters grew up eating while living with their family in Italy.

Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery

Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery offers a farm-to-table menu and stunning vineyard views, with every meal feeling thoughtful and effortless. The menu changes with the seasons, highlighting the freshest local ingredients.

The Ravine Bacon Cheese Burger is a next-level indulgence that combines a perfectly seared 7-ounce smash patty with house-smoked bacon, sharp cheddar, and a luscious sweet onion jam, all layered with crisp iceberg lettuce, tangy dill pickles, and creamy dressing on a freshly baked bun. Each bite is a perfect balance of smoky, savory, and tangy flavors, complemented by a side of crispy, golden frites. Paired with a glass of Ravine’s refreshing 2023 Small Batch Riesling, its bright acidity and citrus notes cut through the richness, making this burger a gourmet experience worth savoring.

Strewn Winery – CAMM-ROYAL Niagara Tapas Bar and Restaurant

Sitting down at Strewn Winery’s CAMM-ROYAL Niagara Tapas Bar and Restaurant, I can’t help but appreciate how a former 1940s cannery has been transformed into such a warm and inviting space. There’s something about sharing tapas with friends, sipping perfectly paired wines, and soaking in the laid-back yet stylish atmosphere that makes every visit memorable. I love how the small plates encourage trying a little bit of everything, making it a fun and flavorful experience.

The Asiago terrine with tomato sauce at Terroir Restaurant was a beautifully crafted dish that perfectly balanced richness and freshness. The terrine itself was a layered masterpiece, with velvety eggplant and roasted red peppers interwoven with the nutty depth of Asiago cheese, creating a luscious, melt-in-your-mouth texture. The accompanying tomato sauce was bright and vibrant, with just the right level of acidity to cut through the creamy, savory layers, adding a rustic, homey touch to the dish.

Make a Reservation

I’ve learned the hard way that snagging a table at a top winery restaurant isn’t something to leave to chance—especially during peak season. These spots fill up fast, so always book ahead to make sure you don’t miss out. Since menus change with the seasons, check their websites beforehand to see what delicious dishes are on offer.

Dress for the Occasion

I love that most winery restaurants keep things casual, but I’ve also found that some spots call for a slightly more polished look. To avoid any last-minute outfit dilemmas, always check ahead so you know what to expect. And since wandering through vineyards is part of the fun, comfortable shoes are a must—you don’t want to be stumbling over gravel in heels!

Wine Pairings Enhance the Experience

Enrich your dining experience by opting for expertly curated wine pairings. Many of these wineries have sommeliers or staff who can recommend the perfect wine to accompany your meal.

Consider a Wine Tour with Transportation

If you’re visiting multiple wineries in one evening, book a wine tour that includes transportation, with some even offering dinner as part of the experience. This allows you to enjoy tastings without worrying about driving and end the day with a perfectly paired meal.

Check for Local Events

Keep an eye out for local events or wine festivals that may coincide with your visit. Annual highlights include the Niagara Icewine Festival in January, Sip & Sizzle in May, and the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival in September. Many wineries also host special tastings, live music nights, and themed dinners throughout the year. Planning ahead means you get to sip, savor, and enjoy the best experiences Niagara-on-the-Lake has to offer!
