A Bit of History

Fall Harvest Farm, located in St. Agatha, Ontario, has a history steeped in family tradition and community engagement. It all started with Rosemary McCormick, who at 12, began selling pumpkins from a roadside wagon. This simple act blossomed into a family legacy, with six generations of the McCormick family now involved in farming.

The farm’s rustic barn storefront offers a variety of produce and locally sourced goods, maintaining the charm and values instilled by their grandfather, Wilfred Kittel, who taught the family traditional farming methods. Today, the McCormick children continue this legacy, ensuring that each visit to the farm is a welcoming, family-friendly experience.

Fall Harvest Farm is not just about pumpkins; it’s a celebration of community and sustainability. With a commitment to organic farming practices and support for local artisans, the farm has become a beloved destination for both fresh produce and a taste of the past.

First and foremost, let’s talk pumpkins. If you thought pumpkins were just orange and round, think again! Fall Harvest Farm is famous for its incredible variety of pumpkins. We’re talking Cinderella pumpkins, ghost pumpkins, warty pumpkins, and even ones that look like they’re straight out of a fairy tale. On each visit, I find myself discovering a new favorite. It’s like a pumpkin treasure hunt, and the kids absolutely love it.

The Pumpkin Patch

Wandering through the pumpkin patch is an experience in itself. Picture this: rows upon rows of pumpkins in every shape and size imaginable, set against a backdrop of autumn foliage. It’s the perfect spot for those Instagram-worthy photos. It’s all cleverly arranged, with similar groups of pumpkins all grouped together.

If you’ve got kiddos in tow, you’re in for a treat. This is a lovely spot to wander around and be amazed by all the pumpkins. We were last there on a lovely fall day with the sun shining and the smell of falling leaves in the air. It was gorgeous! We took a picture at the outdoor picture booth, wandered through the market, and had a lovely afternoon out.

Market Goodies

After you’ve had your fill of pumpkin picking and hayrides, be sure to check out the seasonal market. It’s packed with fall goodies like homemade pies, jams, and local honey. I never leave without grabbing a jar of apple butter and a fresh pumpkin pie. The market also has a fantastic selection of fall décor, from hand-painted signs to beautifully crafted wreaths. It’s like a one-stop shop for all your autumn needs.

One of my favorite memories is from last year. We were there on a particularly crisp October morning. The air was filled with the scent of apples and cinnamon from the nearby market. We wandered through the pumpkin patch and ended our visit nibbling on treats from the market. It was pure autumn bliss.
